Justice in the Classroom | Judicial Systems - Federal and Virginia | Judicial Review & the Independent Judiciary is a lesson that offers an AP Government & Politics standards-based curriculum for high school students and provides them with a better understanding of the concept of judicial review and the importance of an independent judiciary. By examining Marbury v. Madison and Federalist #78 and answering an essay prompt, students learn and demonstrate how the concept of judicial review and the idea of an independent judiciary provide the power of checks and balances over other political institutions.
